The Frazeysburg Volunteer Fire Department became accredited through the American Safety and Health Institute in November of 2011 for training in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
We also received accrediation from the Ohio Department of Public Safety, Emergency Medical Services division for initial EMS education. We are now able to teach EMR, EMT, Advanced EMT Classes along with refresher classes in Emergency Medical Responder (EMR), Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), Advanced Emergency Medical Technician (AEMT), and Paramedic.
Our instructor, Lt. Chad Buchanan, has been teaching at the department for years through another company, but was hired on the department when we began day-time staffing in July of 2011. Chad is one of our two full-time employees, and works as a firefighter / paramedic for the department 5 days a week. He is an accredited instructor in: EMS, fire, first aid, CPR, bloodborne pathogens, wilderness first aid, and pet first aid & CPR.
